Saturday set the stage. In front of a packed house, five candidates for Pennsylvania Governor spelled out their plans for building a Pennsylvania that works for all of us, not just the wealthy and well connected.
But you know who wasn’t there? Our current governor, Tom Corbett.
As voters, we need to know where he stands on fair funding for Pennsylvania schools, raising the state’s minimum wage, and expanding Medicaid. Tell Governor Tom Corbett he can’t side-step our issues. It’s time we know where he stands on the issues we care about: educational funding, raising the minimum wage and expanding Medicaid.
This weekend over a thousand people came to our Gubernatorial Forum. We talked about school funding that can actually cover the costs of educating students and isn’t dictated by political posturing. We want an increase to the minimum wage that keeps up with the rising cost of living and guaranteed paid sick leave across the state.
That’s why next year is so important. We need a governor who will fight for working families and improve lives and not give big breaks to the richest corporations.
Tell Governor Tom Corbett to take a stand on the Working Families agenda. Let him know we want fair funding for schools, a higher minimum wage and an expansion to Medicaid.
For PA Working Families,
Kia Hinton, State Chairwoman, ACTION United
