Grassroots Organizers Needed for Paid Sick Day Push

The Working Families Organization, played a critical role in winning Paid Sick Days policies in Portland, and Eugene. Now we’re going to Salem to win Paid Sick Days for all Oregonians.

Why Paid Sick Days
80% of low wage workers don’t even get one day of paid sick time off. This means that people are forced to make a choice between going to work sick and possibly infecting others, or losing out on pay, or risking their jobs. This especially affects women and people of color and it’s time we made a change in Oregon.

What -you’d do
You’ll be heading out to talk to voters to build support for Paid Sick Days.

What you’d get

  • Valuable experience organizing on an issue that directly affects the quality of life of your neighbors.
  • $10.50 – $13.00 an hour, depending on experience, at 40 hours a week.
  • A fun and fast-paced working environment with great co-workers.

Who we’re looking for
Motivated people who understand that change happens through effort.

Working Families is an organization that fights for racial and economic justice, and we are committed to building a diverse workplace. Women, people of color, and LGBTQ candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
