Maryland Working Families is standing with Baltimore’s community schools because every child should get a great education that prepares them for success in school and beyond. Community schools provide wraparound social services for students and their families, such as food support, health and dental care, ESL for the whole family, and other supports. This is the right approach for our schools that addresses both student achievement and family physical, emotional and economic health.
Community schools rallied in front of Baltimore’s City Hall to ask for more funding and expansion of the community schools program.
The rally was sponsored by Maryland Working Families’ affiliate Communities United, along with AFT-MD and Baltimore Teacher’s Union.
