UPDATE: The Labor Committee postponed its meeting until Thursday morning, so there is still time to tell them to pass the Women’s Economic Agenda.
The Labor Committee is meeting tonight to pass bills they want to send to the full General Assembly. The bills in the Women’s Economic Agenda need to be on that list.
Write to the Labor Committee now and tell them to pass the Women’s Economic Agenda tonight!
If they don’t get to it tonight, they might not be able to pass these critical bills before the deadline is up, and the bills will die.
The bills in the Women’s Economic Agenda will help all workers, but are especially important for women and families. They include:
- expanding paid sick days to workers who don’t yet have them
- creating a paid family and medical leave program for long term illnesses and family care
- eliminating the unfair tipped sub-minimum wage
- establishing fair scheduling rules
If you believe that women deserve an economy that works for them, we need your help.
Write to the Labor Committee now and let them know you want them to pass the Women’s Economic Agenda right away!
If enough of you write to the Labor Committee, they’ll see this isn’t an issue they can ignore.
