Here’s what happened to your signatures

DSC07158Thank you to everyone who signed the petition to support Dina and the workers at Family Care Visiting Nurse Agency. Last week we delivered nearly 9,000 petition signatures, including yours, to the company. Here’s what happened:

About 20 of us gathered outside Family Care’s office last week. We brought a huge stack of paper with nearly 9,000 signatures and comments on it. We also brought a letter asking for a meeting with Family Care and Dina to discuss what had happened, and what could be done to address the situation.

After Dina said a few words explaining why we were there, and what we were doing, a few of us tried to deliver the petition signatures to Family Care’s office, but a police officer was stationed outside the office and would not let us in. The company asked him to screen every person who wanted to enter the office that day. While he did not let us in, he did deliver our petition and letter to the company.

You can see some of the coverage we got from the event from WTNH and the New Haven Register.

We still haven’t heard from Family Care, and they even refused to speak with the reporters trying to cover the story. But we aren’t going to stop. We’ll keep pushing the company for a response, and let you know what they say.

Thanks again to everyone who spoke up and made sure this company isn’t continuing to mistreat the people who work for them.
