Every year, Connecticut WFP recognizes the work of community leaders, activists, and legislators fighting for social, economic, and racial justice in the state.
The fight for social change, however, goes beyond the halls of power. It requires a social movement, a broader coalition that brings people to politics to fight for what is right. It requires not just legislators or well-suited lobbyists, but activists, canvassers, campaign workers, people on the ground. They are the ones leading the charge every single day going door to door, speaking up in their communities, mobilizing those around them for social justice.
The 19 for 19 award winners are these leaders – the people that push our work to the next level. They are the ones building a multiracial movement of working people to transform America. Here are their stories.
