PHILADELPHIA, PA — Today, the Working Families Party endorsed incumbent Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner for re-election.

In his first two terms as District Attorney, Krasner has reduced crime and violence, held bad actors in the police department accountable, expanded the department’s work exonerating innocent people, and taken on Donald Trump and the MAGA right.

“We’re building a movement in Philadelphia that stands up to bullies, like Donald Trump and his billionaire friends, and knocks them down on behalf of justice, the law, and fairness for all people,” said District Attorney Larry Krasner. “The Working Families Party is a key part of that movement because they have the same values. I’m honored to accept their endorsement.”

“The Working Families Party stands firmly behind District Attorney Larry Krasner in this race. We are proud to endorse him and support his unwavering commitment to transformative criminal justice reform,” said Sergio Hyland, Criminal Justice Organizer for the Pennsylvania Working Families Party. “His initiatives to end mass incarceration, eliminate cash bail for nonviolent offenses, and hold law enforcement accountable for bad actions resonate deeply with our mission to advocate for policies that promote equity and justice for all Pennsylvanians.”

The WFP will organize its members, supporters, and voters across the city to support Krasner in the May primary election.

The WFP has played a pivotal role in Philadelphia primary and general elections over the years. In 2024, the Party organized extensively across the state, especially in Philadelphia, for the Harris-Walz presidential ticket, knocking over 733,000 voters’ doors and making 4.2 million calls. In 2023, WFP became the minority party on the Philadelphia City Council by re-electing Councilmember Kendra Brooks and electing Councilmember Nic O’Rourke, while helping earn Dan McCaffrey a seat on the state’s Supreme Court. In 2022, WFP built one of the largest direct voter contact programs in the state, focused on mobilizing voters in Philadelphia and communities of color to help flip a formerly Republican-held U.S. Senate seat.

The Working Families Party is building a movement of everyday people fighting for a nation that cares for all of us. It is organizing in more than a dozen states and has won electoral campaigns in every part of the country. It has emerged as a powerful force in Philadelphia, electing two WFP city councilmembers and many local and state allies, and has played a pivotal role in helping Summer Lee and Sara Innamorato win heavily contested primaries and general elections in Allegheny County.
