Big news! We’re endorsing Jumaane Williams for Governor of New York.
From his start as a community organizer to his current role as NYC Public Advocate, Jumaane has been a powerful voice for working New Yorkers. He’s stood up to wealthy real estate developers and Wall Street CEOs. And he’s put his body on the line — time and time again — to fight for a state that works for all of us.
Now we have the chance to send a true people’s champion to the State Capitol to fight for quality affordable housing, health care for all, universal child care, and excellent public schools.
When Jumaane ran for Lieutenant Governor in 2018, he won 47% of the vote against now-Governor Kathy Hochul, despite being outspent more than 20-to-1. Since then, Jumaane has won two successive city-wide elections by resounding margins and passed more legislation than any Public Advocate in history.
Together, the NY WFP and Jumaane won paid sick leave in New York City and curbed abusive stop-and-frisk policies. We know that together we can build a New York for all of us, not just the few. Stand with Jumaane by taking action today.
