FAQ

How did we come up with the Working Families Guarantee?

Our sister organization, Working Families Power, has been engaged in a multiracial working class research project for several years and decided last year to develop a proactive economic populist agenda that could bring the multiracial working class together. Working Families Power worked with multiple partners, research organizations and constituent organizations and conducted quarterly polling of working class voters during 2025, all with the goal of identifying the issues and policies that would have majority support. The Working Families Guarantee reflects a short but powerful list of bold economic solutions to make life more affordable for all working families in the United States.   

On April 20th, Working Families Party members voted to adopt the Working Families Guarantee as our guiding proactive agenda and now we are launching it in collaboration with a number of elected officials and candidates for Congress who pledge to fight for the Guarantee.
