WFP Response to Debate: “The contrast couldn’t be clearer, and the stakes for working people couldn’t be higher”
In response to the Presidential debate, Working Families Party National Director Maurice Mitchell said:
“Tonight’s debate offered voters a stark contrast. Vice President Harris’ agenda speaks to the needs of working families. A Harris Administration would raise taxes on big corporations to pay for universal preschool and childcare, lower housing and prescription drug costs, and restore the full child tax credit. Donald Trump’s Project 2025 is the dream agenda for the bosses and the billionaires. President Trump would end Head Start, raise the retirement age for Social Security, and keep millions from earning overtime, all so he could give trillions to the wealthy and corporations.
“WFP members are fired up and ready to hit the doors in battleground states and districts so we can block Trump and his MAGA movement, elect V.P. Harris and Gov. Walz, and send more champions for working families to Congress. The contrast couldn’t be clearer, and the stakes for working people couldn’t be higher.”
