Working Families Party Responds to VP Debate

In response to tonight’s VP debate, Maurice Mitchell, National Director of the Working Families Party, has issued the following statement:

“Working-class voters want to know which candidate will have our backs. Tonight, Tim Walz left no doubt in voters’ minds which ticket will fight for a better future for our families.

“Vance and Trump are looking out for their billionaire friends, while using fear to divide us. Their Project 2025 plan would give more tax breaks to greedy corporations, while making it harder for workers to organize for good wages and benefits.

“Over the final four weeks, the WFP will be knocking on hundreds of thousands of doors in key swing states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Wisconsin to make the case to voters for why Harris and Walz are the best choice for our communities.”

BACKGROUND:

  • The Working Families Party and two of its largest affiliates, People’s Action and the Center for Popular Democracy Action, are mobilizing their bases to knock on over five million doors in key battleground states.
