Oregon Working Families Party withdraws endorsement of Marc Grambo

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 4, 2024

Portland, OR — Oregon Working Families Party, along with UFCW 555, Basic Rights Oregon, Hillsboro Classified United 467, AFT-Oregon, State Representative Farrah Chaichi, and Hillsboro City Council President Anthony Martin are withdrawing endorsement of City Council candidate Marc Grambo.

We have become aware of unacceptable communications and conduct by Hillsboro City Council candidate Marc Grambo. While we do not wish to litigate the underlying policy discussions, after careful review of the situation, we have determined that the conduct we have seen is not becoming of an endorsed candidate. Irrespective of the policy positions, his behavior was not what we expect to see from an endorsed candidate nor that of an aspiring trustee of public authority.

Our members value the way in which aspiring trustees of elected office communicate with working families. Our members’ endorsements, or in this case withdrawal of support, signal their confidence in candidates seeking to gain public trust to govern our communities.
