NYWFP ANNOUNCES DAY ONE ENDORSEMENT IN NY-10: “BRAD LANDER IS A WFP CHAMPION”

NEW YORK CITY, NY — Today, the New York Working Families Party (NYWFP) announced its Day One endorsement of Brad Lander in NY-10.

Candidates who apply for the Working Families Party (NYWFP) endorsement complete a robust questionnaire and interview process. At a time when elected officials are on the frontline of protecting our communities and democracy, NYWFP is investing in races up and down the ballot and all across NY to ensure New Yorkers have trusted leaders who fight for working families.

“For more than 20 years, Brad Lander has been one of the strongest champions for New York’s working families and a proud member of the New York Working Families Party. We are extremely proud to endorse his campaign for Congress in NY-10, because we know he will represent New Yorkers with the same moral courage and determination that he has demonstrated throughout his time in public office,” said Ana María Archila and Jasmine Gripper, Co-Directors, New York Working Families Party.

“We know that as congressman, Brad Lander will continue to lead the fights to protect immigrants, to stand up for workers, and to make New York a place where working families can afford to live and thrive. And most of all – we know he will continue to build a movement strong enough to defeat Donald Trump and the forces of authoritarianism by practicing a kind of politics that makes a true, multi-racial democracy possible,” Ana María Archila and Jasmine Gripper said. “These are uncharted times – and we know Brad Lander has what it takes to represent NYers in Washington. We are all in and ready to win!”

“I am deeply grateful for the support of the Working Families Party, my political home for over 25 years,” said Comptroller Brad Lander. “Together, we will fight for a welcoming and inclusive city that everyone can afford. We will take on the rigged economy, which rewards the wealthy over workers, and fight the Trump Administration’s authoritarian attacks on our neighbors. I look forward to working with the members of the Working Families Party to continue building a bold, unified, progressive coalition to win this seat.”
