Georgia WFP Announces 2026 Primary Endorsements
ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The Georgia Working Families Party (WFP) has announced over a dozen endorsements in key races ahead of the May primary election. From candidates for school boards to the state legislature, Georgia WFP’s diverse slate of endorsed leaders carry a shared vision and commitment to fighting for a future where working-class Georgians can thrive.
At the top of the ticket, the Georgia Working Families Party is proudly endorsing Amanda Hollowell for election in Georgia’s 1st Congressional District. Amanda serves as Chief of Campaigns at Color of Change, one of the country’s largest racial justice organizations, and brings decades of experience in political organizing and advocacy. Amanda is running on a common-sense platform of healthcare for all, affordable housing, higher wages, investments in education, tax reform, and voter protections; she is the embodiment of the Working Families Party’s values. If elected to this open seat, Amanda would become the first woman and the first Black leader to represent District 1—a long-overdue step toward reflective representation for Coastal Georgia’s increasingly diverse population.
“The Georgia Working Families Party’s endorsement means a great deal to me as it demonstrates a shared commitment to putting people first,” said Amanda Hollowell, candidate for GA-01. “This campaign is about building an economy and a democracy that works for everyday people, not just the well-connected. I’m proud to stand alongside WFP in fighting for working families across Georgia’s 1st Congressional District.”
“The Georgia Working Families Party is incredibly proud of the candidates we’re supporting this cycle,” said Fallon McClure, Southeast Deputy Regional Director of the Working Families Party. “As a whole, they are a compassionate and dedicated slate of leaders who understand the needs and dreams of everyday Georgians and are committed to doing the hard work of earning voters’ trust and support in the coming weeks. Each of our candidates has a platform rooted in the issues top of mind for Georgians today, from affordable healthcare and housing to safety for our immigrant neighbors. Our candidates’ bold visions and people-centered campaigns remind us that a different future is possible—a future where Georgians don’t have to compromise between competing needs, where necessities like childcare and college savings are both within reach.”
Nearing the end of another legislative session that failed to deliver meaningful relief for working families, the time has come for more working-class fighters in the Georgia General Assembly who can work together to move progressive policies forward. That’s why Georgia WFP is announcing several crucial endorsements for State House and State Senate, working towards building a strong legislative bench and flipping the State House in the next few cycles.
Endorsements for State House and State Senate candidates seeking open seats or challenging incumbents include:
- Rep. Ruwa Romman for State Senate District 7
- Aaron Baker for State House District 51
- Kenn Collier for State House District 62
- Jyot Singh for State House District 97
- Michelle Kang for State House District 99
- Alana Sanders for State House District 113
Endorsements for State House incumbents seeking re-election include:
- Rep. Gabriel Sanchez for State House District 42
- Rep. Bryce Berry for State House District 56
- Rep. Marvin Lim for State House District 98
The Party is also endorsing candidates in three County-level races, recognizing the often-ignored but meaningful impact local elections have on people’s daily lives. Endorsements include:
- Keyanna Jones Moore for DeKalb County Commission, District 3
- Kerry Hatcher for Bibb County School Board, Post 7
- Adrienne Simmons for Gwinnett County School Board, District 4
Please see additional information about each candidate’s platform and race here.
Candidates were selected for endorsements following a rigorous application and interview process. The sought-after Georgia WFP endorsement includes valuable candidate support such as candidate and campaign staff training, access to voter tools, and a host of campaign services—including phones and texts. The Party will also engage in voter contact via mail and paid media for priority races.
The Georgia WFP formally announced its slate of primary endorsements at a World Cup themed “Signing Day” party this evening in Atlanta, where candidates and supporters will come together to celebrate the next era of Georgia’s leadership. At the event, endorsed candidates will sign a pledge to prioritize the issues on Working Families Power’s Economic Mobility Mandate, including increasing affordable housing, fighting for a living wage, and ending collaboration with ICE.
The Party is looking forward to an exciting night and election cycle ahead that prioritizes working-class Georgians and ushers in a new kind of people-centered politics.
