PAWFP, Progressive Groups, Elected Officials Endorse Rep. Chris Rabb in PA-03

Working Families Party, Justice Democrats, Cmbrs. Kendra Brooks & Nicolas O’Rourke join One PA & Philadelphia DSA to coalesce around Rabb as progressive candidate in open primary

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A coalition of progressive groups and elected officials on Thursday endorsed State Rep. Chris Rabb in the open-seat primary race for Pennsylvania’s 3rd Congressional District, which covers a large part of south, west, north, and northwest Philadelphia.

The Working Families Party, Justice Democrats, Minority Leader Kendra Brooks, and Minority Whip Nicolas O’Rourke today joined existing endorsers One Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Democratic Socialists of America to support Rabb, uniting behind him as the progressive candidate in the race.

Rep. Rabb was first elected to the Pennsylvania House in 2016 and has led on key issues that matter for working people. In Congress, he will fight for Medicare-for-All, deeply affordable housing, abolishing ICE, a living wage, and much more.

“I am so honored to receive the endorsement of Councilmembers Kendra Brooks and Nicolas O’Rourke, the Working Families Party and Justice Democrats in this race for Congress in PA-03,” said State Rep. Chris Rabb. “Our coalition is people-powered, and our allies are united in our fight to demand a prosperous future for the multiracial working class families and communities who are the heart of Philly and represent our city’s incredible strength and potential. Together, we can advance a bold and transformative progressive agenda that takes on the billionaires and political insiders and puts the people first. I am proud to be building such a strong progressive coalition in this campaign and know that together, we can win this race and lift up the voices of working people across Philly.”

“Chris Rabb is the progressive choice for Philadelphia’s 3rd Congressional District. I’m proud to endorse his campaign along with my party, the Working Families Party,” said Philadelphia City Council Minority Leader Kendra Brooks. “It’s time we have one of our own in the squad. Rep. Rabb is one of the longest serving progressives in Harrisburg where he has taken on Republicans and the billionaire class to improve the lives of working people. He’s always advocated for a people first agenda and that’s exactly the type of experience we need right now in Washington D.C. to stop the Trump administration. With this election, Philadelphia has the chance to elect an unapologetic fighter and my party will do everything we can to make sure he’s our next Congressmember this November.”

“We are proud to endorse Chris Rabb as the clear, progressive choice in the race for the bluest district in the country,” said Alexandra Rojas, Executive Director of Justice Democrats. “Rep. Rabb has been a trailblazing progressive in Harrisburg who has the record of taking on corporate power and Republican extremism to serve the needs of everyday people — and Philadelphians deserve that leadership in Washington. Our movement is uniting behind him because we know that working class communities across the country are looking for fighters in Congress, who have the moral courage to not only take on Donald Trump but also the Democratic Party when it fails those communities. Rep. Rabb’s unbought, people-first agenda against the billionaire class is exactly the type of leadership Democratic voters are demanding from this Party.”

“Philadelphians are being priced out of the city they call home, while corporate interests continue to receive handouts,” said Deborah Rose Hinchey, Philly DSA Co-Chair. “Rep. Rabb is a democratic socialist ready to fight for housing, healthcare, and a dignified life for everyone—which is why we are proud to endorse him for Congress. He understands that affordability is a political choice that requires bravery, and is not just the new Democratic buzz word. We are thrilled to stand with a candidate who shares our values and our urgency for real change.”

“We don’t need more corporate Democrats. We need public servants who have a vision to meet the terrible needs of our community and the courage to fight back against the extraordinary fascist threat that we face,” said Nydea Graves, Movement Politics Director at OnePA. “This is no time for business as usual. We’re proud to stand with the rest of the Working Families Party to be a part of sending Chris Rabb to Congress.”

The Working Families Party has been organizing and winning in Philadelphia for nearly a decade now, counting numerous champions among its ranks from the Pennsylvania House and Senate to City Council. In 2017, the Party helped elect Larry Krasner to his first term as District Attorney and defended him in both subsequent re-election campaigns. In 2019, the WFP elected Councilmember Brooks to an at-large seat on the Philadelphia City Council, and in 2023, the WFP re-elected Brooks and elected Councilmember O’Rourke to serve alongside her, defeating Republicans in seats the party had held for over 70 years. As a result, WFP became the minority party on the council. In 2024, the WFP knocked over 733,000 doors for the Kamala Harris-Tim Walz campaign, including a substantial program in the City of Philadelphia. In 2025, the Working Families Party along with Working Families Power led a significant program statewide investing separately in civic engagement, voter contact, and other organizing efforts for the Supreme Court retention races.

Justice Democrats started in 2017 under the first Trump administration and have become the leading progressive electoral organization recruiting working-class champions to Congress. Over the last four cycles, they recruited and helped elect members of the Squad including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Jamal Bowman, Cori Bush, and Summer Lee. Since forming they have been a part of successfully unseating five 15+ year incumbents (collectively they served 108 years in office).

Chris Rabb was first elected to the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives in 2016, representing the 200th PA House District. Rep. Rabb  is a 5-term state representative in the largest full-time state legislature in the U.S. He proudly represents a majority Black, mixed income legislative district of nearly 70,000 people across 4 neighborhoods in northwest Philadelphia. He has spent his career challenging corporate power, advancing social justice, and standing up for communities too often ignored by political insiders. Now, he’s taking that fight to Capitol Hill to join the ranks of other bold progressive public servants, amplify the voices of working families, and defy monied interests and establishment politics.

Rep. Rabb has now been endorsed by the Working Families Party,  Justice Democrats, Philadelphia DSA, One PA, Sunrise Movement, First Ward Democrats, Ward39A Democrats, Mt. Airy Democrats, Reclaim Philadelphia, Vote the Ridge, Muslims United PAC, Philadelphia City Council Minority Leader Kendra Brooks & Philadelphia City Council Minority Whip Nicolas O’Rourke.
