Working Families Party Notches Wins in Contested Primaries
The Working Families Party candidates Chris Rabb (PA-3) and Bob Brooks (PA-7) won by sizable margins in fiercely contested primaries last night. The Party also notched a major victory in Kentucky, where Charles Booker won his race to be the Democratic nominee for Senate.
The Party played a leading organizing role in Chris Rabb and Bob Brooks’s races, providing strategic support, organizing its members and partners to knock on over 100,000 doors, and spending seven-figures on the IE side on cable, broadcast, and digital ads.
“There’s a crisis of confidence in Congress right now, and people are looking for leaders willing to break with the status quo and actually stand up for working-class families,” said Maurice Mitchell, National Director of the Working Families Party. “What makes our candidates different is that they aren’t just coasting on the backlash to Trump’s disastrous presidency. They’re offering a forward-looking vision for how we can make government work for regular people, not just the billionaire class.”
