Early voting has started, and the New York Working Families Party (NYWFP) is entering the most consequential phase of the 2026 primary election cycle with a disciplined strategy to help elect champions for working families, expand our governing coalition, and build long-term political power across New York State.

Winning Elections, Building Governing Power

We are working to elect candidates who can win, govern, and deliver meaningful results for working families. By electing more WFP champions to office, we are positioning ourselves to shape New York’s future in 2027, 2028, and beyond. We are creating the conditions necessary to advance policies that improve people’s lives—from taxing the ultrawealthy and expanding childcare to addressing New York’s housing affordability crisis and protecting immigrant communities.

The Working Families Party endorsement has become one of the most sought-after endorsements in New York politics. Voters look at the WFP endorsement list every year before casting their vote. The strength of our brand reflects years of organizing, coalition-building, and delivering results for working people.

The 2026 Electoral Landscape and NYWFP Priorities

The 2026 map presents opportunities across federal, state, and local elections to expand the WFP governing coalition and strengthen progressive leadership across New York State.

Congress 

NY has a proud history of producing elected leaders who have shaped progressive politics nationally. The next chapter of that story is being written here in NY. The NYWFP has endorsed Antonio Reynoso in NY-7 and Brad Lander in NY-10—two lifelong champions of the NYWFP and proven leaders committed to advancing the Working Families Guarantee.

The stakes in NY-10 go beyond a single congressional seat. This election is about who the government should work for. Brad Lander has spent his career standing up to powerful interests and fighting to make New York more affordable and equitable. In Congress, he will answer to his constituents—not special interests. We believe he is uniquely positioned to provide the bold, independent leadership this moment demands.

In NY-7, a lifelong progressive, Antonio Reynoso has spent his career delivering results for New Yorkers—from organizing at ACORN to building up the Progressive Caucus in the City Council and serving as Brooklyn Borough President. He came up alongside many of the architects of the NYWFP and has spent decades advancing the values that have defined our multi-ethnic movement: economic justice, affordable housing, immigrant rights, strong public schools, and accountable government. At a time when Washington is increasingly disconnected from everyday people, Reynoso brings an authentic lived experience to this race—grounded in the working-class communities that shaped him and the coalition politics that have transformed our city. 

New York State Senate

The Working Families Party is committed to protecting and growing a strong bloc of champions in Albany, including Jessica González-Rojas, Jabari Brisport, Yuh-Line Niou, Evan Menist, Sarah Rogerson, and Jon Rivera. Together, these leaders are helping advance a governing agenda rooted in economic justice, housing affordability, healthcare access, immigrant rights, and democratic accountability.

State Assembly

The Party is focused on defending proven champions such as Demond Meeks and Jo Anne Simon while electing a new generation of Working Families leaders across the state, including contending for open seats with Adam Bojak (AD 149), Samantha Kattan (AD37) Ryder Kessler (AD 66), Latoya LeGrand (AD 32), Dan Livingston (AD 132), Eli Northrup (AD 69) and Brian Romero (AD 34).  We are also challenging incumbents with grassroots leaders ready to step up for working families Conrad Blackburn (AD 70), Maurice Brown (AD 129), Christian Celeste Tate (AD 54), Morgan Evers (AD 81), Eon Huntley (AD 56), Jibreel Jalloh (AD 59) and David Orkin (AD 38). 

These races represent an opportunity to significantly grow the WFP legislative coalition and elect representatives that reflect the diversity, values, and aspirations of working-class communities across New York.

Because of the victories we have achieved over the last decade, the NYWFP is uniquely positioned to mobilize a statewide base of support that few organizations can match.This cycle, we have communicated with hundreds of thousands of voters and engaged Party members through canvassing, phone banks, direct mail, digital advertising, and volunteer organizing efforts across the state.

The Stakes Could Not Be Higher

We are at a crossroads in American politics. At a moment when Donald Trump and authoritarian forces continue to threaten democratic institutions, working people are demanding leaders willing to stand up to concentrated wealth, corporate power, and special interests that increasingly dominate our political system.
