Working Families Party Celebrates Will Jawando’s Primary Win in Montgomery County Executive Race
ROCKVILLE — Vidal Hines, Mid Atlantic Senior Political Director for the Working Families Party, has issued the following statement in response to Will Jawando’s win in the Montgomery County Executive race:
“With Will Jawando’s election, Montgomery County voters are choosing a county government that puts them first, not developers or the wealthiest. Working Families Party is proud to support Jawando as we grow a working families majority in county government to deliver tangible results for working people.
“Montgomery County is becoming too expensive; Will Jawando will fight back against corporate developers, protect renters, support working families, and make the county more livable for working families.”
BACKGROUND:
WFP’s Independent Expenditure program on behalf of Will Jawando included:
- Three-piece direct mail program targeting more than 25,000 Democratic Black voters across more than 30,000 doors.
- Paid phone program to more than 43,000 targeted voters, focused on persuasion and voter identification.
- Two rounds of MMS/SMS texting to the same universe, reinforcing persuasion and GOTV.
- Digital advertising focused on affordability, housing, tenant rights, and standing up to corporate developers.
- Polling and message testing.
- Volunteer voter contact through volunteer Maryland Wolf Pack calls.
The digital program delivered:
