NEW YORK CITY —In response to 450,000 New Yorkers losing healthcare coverage due to Trump’s healthcare cuts, New York Working Families Party (NYWFP) Director Jasmine Gripper released the following statement: 

“Today, hundreds of thousands of low income New Yorkers will lose their health insurance due to Donald Trump and the GOP controlled US Senate and Congress’ fascist agenda. Many of these New Yorkers are likely to remain uninsured, unable to pay for basic coverage. Trump’s evil cuts are literally hurting New Yorkers. MAGA loyalists like Bruce Blakeman and Mike Lawler are standing idly by while their most vulnerable constituents and poor families lose their access to care.  

“There’s currently a bill in Albany, S9589/ A10926, which directs the state to continue to provide Essential Plan coverage for those whose care has been terminated by federal cuts. The New York Working Families Party urges Governor Hochul and state leaders to step up to meet the moment. The stakes could not be higher for working families across the state.”
