Southern Made: Lead Where You Live
The Working Families Party strives for a South which realizes the promise — unrealized in our history — of freedom, equality, and political power for all, and we need you with us.
Following the gutting of the Voting Rights Act, we are doubling down on our work to build long-term governing power for working people in the South. We are determined not just to fight back against racist and authoritarian attacks, but to fight forward with bold leaders and people-centered policies — to forge a future where access to healthcare, affordable housing, safe environments, and economic mobility are not pipe dreams but lived realities.
We know the path to securing that future is by electing working-class champions up and down the ballot who share our vision and commitment.
Our goal is simple: recruit 1,000 pro-democracy, working class candidates to run in races across the South by 2030. We welcome people of all backgrounds and experiences — parents, teachers, caregivers, service workers, faith leaders, neighbors, and all who care about the future of our communities.
It will take all of us playing a part to make this feat possible. From national partners and individual ambassadors to folks who are ready to take the leap and run for office, all are welcome and all are needed.
We can elect more progressive leaders, protect our electoral gains, defend our democracy, train the next generation of candidates and campaign professionals, and build a political home for communities too often pushed to the margins. Together, let’s recruit and develop the next generation of leaders to build the South we deserve.
