Portland, OR — The Oregon Working Families Party (OWFP) is proud to announce a successful statewide effort in mobilizing grassroots support for working-class champions.

This general election, OWFP members and activists engaged over 1,240,000 voters, elevating voices committed to building power for Oregon’s multiracial working class.

“The Working Families Party is lifting the ceiling on what Oregonians expect of our elected officials,” said Annie Naranjo-Rivera, State Director of the Oregon Working Families Party. “Tonight’s wins reflect the tireless dedication and hard work of our Working Families members, and State Committee organizations and their members.”

In the lead-up to the elections, OWFP members spent months building and executing an impactful grassroots campaign to contact Oregon voters:

  • Knocking on over 49,000 doors to connect personally with community members and encourage participation in the electoral process.
  • Making 859,000 paid staff calls and 106,000 volunteer phone calls to ensure voters had the information they needed to make informed choices at the polls.
  • Sending over 226,000 texts to talk to voters in their community about local candidates.
  • Trained hundreds of organizers and volunteers across the city and state.

“We are thrilled to support candidates who are dedicated to uplifting working families and addressing the pressing issues our communities are facing,” said Reyna Lopez, Co-Chair of the OWFP State Committee and Executive Director of Pineros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste (PCUN). “The successes of our campaigns demonstrate the power of community organizing and the importance of grassroots efforts in shaping our political landscape.”

The Oregon Working Families Party is committed to continuing its work beyond this election cycle, focusing on building a strong, inclusive movement that advocates for the needs of all Oregonians.
