Following Donald Trump’s decision to unilaterally strike Iran, Maurice Mitchell, National Director of the Working Families Party, has issued the following statement:

“We strongly condemn Donald Trump’s illegal strikes on Iran. Trump’s reckless actions are putting working people all across the United States in danger. 

“Trump cannot unilaterally declare war—only Congress has the authority to authorize war.

“Congress must put a stop to these attacks by passing the War Powers Resolution immediately.”
